S denotes the number of relapses observed; N, the number of patients included; p, is the relapse rate; Z= S – N p0; and V = N p0 (1 - p0). The setting of the triangular test is detailed in the text. At the third analysis, the Z value exceeded the upper boundary value (bolded in the table).
