  1. HE values were calculated for all alleles detected, including those from samples with multiple alleles per locus (all data) and from a restricted data set in which only the dominant allele at each locus was used (dominant only). One out of the 12 published P. falciparum loci (TA40) [27] was not used as this was found not to amplify.
