*two corresponding abdomens were not positive or had faint bands. One of 3 was positive for abdomen in second replicate.
Numbers of specimens and percentages positive or negative for Plasmodium falciparum, as determined by PCR, for the ‘Frozen’ treatment, for anterior and posterior portions of specimens of Anopheles stephensi, at different stages of infection (Oos only = oocysts only, 6–7 days p.i.; Spz + Oos = sporozoites and oocysts, 14 days p.i.), and different bisection locations (A, B, C, see Figure 1).
