Purple rectangles represent states of mosquitoes as typically recorded in experimental hut studies: unfed alive (UA); unfed dead (UD); fed alive (FA); fed dead (FD); 'Trans' denotes a transitory state (not an end state as observed in mosquito counts the mornings of experimental hut studies).
