Sequence polymorphism of PvMSP-1 42 in Korean Plasmodium vivax isolates. Sequence analysis revealed that a total of 11 distinct haplotypes of PvMSP-142 were identified in 149 P. vivax Korean isolates. Polymorphic amino acids compared to the reference sequence, Sal I (AF435593), are listed for each haplotype. The dimorphic, trimorphic and tetramorphic amino acid changes are marked in yellow, blue and red, respectively. The total numbers of sequences for each haplotype are listed in the right panel.
