The time until the host clears infection or the host dies when infected between one and 100 days of age. In this figure, the parasite has a stronger affinity for reticulocytes, and either has a normal 48 h life cycle, or a delayed 108 h life cycle (ζRef = 10ζMf and ζRea = 10ζMa).
