Malaria prevalence in humans varying over vertical transmission, deployment rate and fungal virulence. Each subfigure shows the endemic malaria prevalence in humans, relative to the no‐fungus baseline, plotted against the fungal virulence σ, for five different levels of the fungal application (spraying) rate α. The different values of α in each subfigure are {0.05,0.1,0.15,0.2,0.25} days −1, corresponding to curves from top to bottom, and the length of the dashing increases with α. Each subfigure represents a different value of the vertical transmissibility ξ from ξ=0 (no vertical transmission) to ξ=1 (perfect vertical transmission). All other parameter values are as given in Additional file 2.
