  1. In accordance with WHO protocols, each exposure temperature experiment included four replicates of approximately 25 females for the treatment groups exposed to the resistance-disciminating concentrations (permethrin: 0.75%; malathion: 5%). Groups of control mosquitoes, exposed to insecticide-free papers, were likewise replicated. There were two experiments in which mosquitoes were exposed to malathion.
