Three age groups are considered: less than five, from six to 20 and greater than 20 years old. (b) Age-specific rate of change in the proportion of infected individuals that also have gametocytes (i.e. "(Proportion gametocyte positive at month 'm+1'/proportion at month 'm') - 1)". A value of 0, therefore, means no relative change in the proportion of infected individuals with gametocytes. (c) Entomological parameters measured in selected houses. Number of infected (EIR) and uninfected mosquito bites per person per month and the sporozoite rate.
