Table 1 Mean IC50 values for chloroquine and pyrimethamine determined by the PicoGreenĀ® or [3H]-hypoxanthine accumulation assay. Mean IC50 values for chloroquine and pyrimethamine were determined by the PicoGreenĀ® or the [3H]-hypoxanthine accumulation assay for two laboratory lines of P. falciparum, 3D7 and K1. Data are the means of 3 independent determinations and standard error of the mean (s.e.m.) values are given in brackets. P-values were obtained from Student's t-test comparisons of IC50 values obtained for the two methods.
