Relative rates of parasite release in synchronized cultures of P. falciparum at the optimal cell density in chamber. A. Range of cell densities in chambers suited for the release assay. Cells were injected into the chambers used for the release assay and cell number per optical field of 100× objective was evaluated as mean of 10 counts. Cell concentrations in the same cell suspensions were evaluated using Cellometer (Nexcelom Bioscience, Lawrence, MA). B.
