Phylogenetic relationships between the Cytochrome b sequences obtained in the study and those of known Plasmodium species (represented by their accession number). The tree was built based on cytochrome b (cyt-b) sequences of 686 bp. Red indicates sequences obtained from chimpanzees and green from gorillas. Bootstrap values are given at each node.
