RNA-mediated gene silencing of the para gene does not influence Plasmodium falciparum oocyst infection levels. The results of two replicate experimental infections are shown. Neither infection prevalence (p = 1.0) nor infection intensity (p = 0.10) were statistically significant between mosquitoes silenced for para gene transcript (dsVSC) and control mosquitoes treated with dsGFP
