From: Generation of Plasmodium falciparum parasite-inhibitory antibodies by immunization with recombinantly-expressed CyRPA

Fig. 5

Vaccine elicited anti-PfCyRPA mAbs inhibit parasite growth in vitro. Synchronized P. falciparum 3D7 parasites were cultivated for 96 h in the presence of anti-PfCyRPA mAbs. The percentage of growth inhibition was calculated against the parasitaemia of PBS control wells. Each bar represents the mean of a triplicate experiment, and error bars indicate the SD. Anti-PfCyRPA mAbs SB1.6, SB2.3, SB2.1 and SB3.3 are growth inhibitory mAbs, mAb SB1.5 is shown as an example for a partially inhibitory mAb, and mAb SB3.8 as an example for a non-inhibitory mAb. The anti-cortisol mAb CORTI-4/16 was used as negative control and the anti-PfCyRPA mAb c12, which was produced after immunization with mammalian cells expressing recombinant PfCyRPA on their cell surface, as positive control [32]
