  1. Seventeen subjects were enrolled into the true-immunized group that received bites of PfRAS mosquitoes; five subjects were enrolled in 1999–2000 and 12 subjects were enrolled in 2001–2002. Thirteen subjects were enrolled into the mock-immunized group that received bites of uninfected mosquitoes, and six subjects enrolled as infectivity controls of whom five received CHMI
