The markers are superoxide production (superoxide production corrected for mitochondria quantity; n total 141, n sub-adult/adult 47/94, n female/male 70/71, n uninfected/infected 80/61), reactive oxygen metabolites (ROMs square root transformed; n total 134, n sub-adult/adult 43/91, n female/male 65/69, n uninfected/infected 73/61), RBC membrane resistance to oxidative attack (n total 133, n sub-adult/adult 50/83, n female/male 67/66, n uninfected/infected 75/58) and plasma antioxidant capacity (log transformed; n total 69, n sub-adult/adult 16/53, n female/male 34/35, n uninfected/infected 43/26) and the models considered reproductive effort as brood size
