Schematic illustration of components of the micro-costing methodology. The figure illustrates the micro-costing approach by zooming in on the planning stage of implementation. For all interventions modelled here operational activities supporting planning covered micro-planning, meetings at central level, and meetings at district level. The chart details resource categories into which resource line items were grouped for purposes of evaluation and reporting; consistent resource groupings were adopted for all operational activities. The last column of the chart shows how micro-inputs (i.e. daily wages of programme staff, number staff days, number of staff) are combined within a cost-function to estimate cost of personnel supporting micro-planning. Similar cost-functions were defined for all other relevant resource categories within each operational activity along the intervention implementation cycle
