Pathway 27 Human health: Increased or novel human disease transmission could be caused by replacement of Anopheles gambiae niche with another disease vector. Population suppression of An. gambiae could release other disease vectors from competition, leading to an increase the population density of those other disease vectors and therefore increase their vectorial capacity and disease transmission.
