Measured IgG antibodies against various P. vivax RBP2b protein fragments following symptomatic P. vivax infections in Thailand. The antibodies in plasma of 34 individuals were measured at presentation of symptomatic P. vivax infection (W00) and one week later (W01) and compared to malaria naïve negative controls from the Volunteer Blood Donor Registry (VBDR), Australian Red Cross (ARC) and Thai Red Cross (TRC). Box plots show median Relative Antibody Units (RAU) and the interquartile range and whiskers indicate ±1.5 interquartile range (points outside of this range are shown individually). Statistical difference in RAU at W1 compared to each of the panels of negative controls were assessed using Mann−Whitney U test, all p < 0.0001 except for PvRBP2b-W161–471 when compared to the TRC panel
