The acquisition of IgG to seven multi-domain and full length (FL) PfEMP1 proteins and MSP3 antigen of P. falciparum was measured by bead-based Luminex technology as previously described [48]. Results are expressed as median fluorescent intensity (MFI) subtracted the reactivity of unexposed control donors. The PfEMP1 domains representing domain cassette (DC) 5, 6 and 7 are as defined by Rask et al.[23].
