  1. VIF: variance inflation factors for individual variables. Tolerances and VIF are co-linearity statistics that measure the strength of the interrelationships among the variables incorporated into the model for variable selection. If a variable is very closely related to other variables, then the tolerance goes to 0, and the VIF gets very large.
