Phylogenetic analysis of Plasmodium species based on the non-repeat regions of csp gene. The tree was constructed using the neighbour-joining method implemented in MEGA version 6.0 software [17] under the Kimura-2 parameter model with transition and transversions. Figures on the main branches are bootstrap percentages obtained through 1000 replicates. The complete csp gene sequences retrieved from the GenBank database are shown in the tree with respective accession numbers, country of origin and the reported period (if available).
