Molecules related to oxidative stress and cell death involved in the tissue schizontocidal activity of PQ–QdNO hybrids in HepG2-CD81 cells infected with P. yoelii 17XNL. a Representative image of western blot shows the expression of P53, c-JUN, oxidized DJ-1 (DJ-1ox), HIF1a, CASP3, glutathione peroxidase 1 (GPX-1) in uninfected HepG2CD81 cells or infected with P. yoelii 17XNL and treated or not with PQ–QdNO hybrids. The mean intensity value of the bands shown in (a) was measured by an infrared imaging system (Odyssey, LI-COR), and the intensity was normalized to that of Actin (bg). The data are expressed as the mean ± standard deviation of three independent experiments. *p < 0.05 and **p < 0.01 shows statistically significant differences compared to the control group
