Evaluation of the self-marking units under semi-field conditions. Left panel: an open side panel showing a bowl of An. arabiensis pupae underneath. The side panel is closed for the experiment and emerging adult mosquitoes fly and bump their way through the layers of cloth to exit the marking grid and into the exit trap. Adults are collected from the exit trap by aspiration through the cloth sleeve on top of the trap.
