Association between SGA and malaria infection in the 1st and 2nd trimester vs. no malaria. Newborns of women having had mmalaria in the1st/2nd and 1st/2nd/3rd trimesters were pooled together but excluded if they had malaria in the 3rd trimester only. Data from the study by Divala et al. were also excluded as malaria testing was only performed at enrolment and delivery.
